I received a request for a CHEEZ-IT cake and was up for the challenge! Since I did not have a box of Cheez-Its on hand, I went and bought one so I could make it look as close as possible to the real thing. It turned out so cute!!! I had so much fun adding the finishing touches....nutrition facts, barcode, lift tab, and the "fondant" cheez-its that are on top and also around the cake. Take a look....pretty close to the real thing, huh?

Photo Album Birthday Cake
I am finally getting around to posting pictures of the "Photo Album" birthday cake that I made last week. This was my first time working with edible photos and they actually turned out great! I was surprised just how clear the images turned out. This cake was for a surprise 70th birthday party and I later found out that they did not want to cut the cake.

"Cool Yule" Cake
Yesterday was so much fun! I got to spend the day in another Nicholas Lodge class -- this time we made a "Cool Yule Cake" using rolled fondant and gumpaste. He is so talented and his classes are just awesome. When it comes to Sugar Art, Nicholas Lodge truly is the best!

Pumpkin "cutie pie" Cupcakes
I was playing in the kitchen tonight trying out some recipes for my company's upcoming Arts and Crafts Fair. I saw these adorable cupcakes online and wanted to make them. I tried a couple of different recipes for Pumpkin cupcakes and my favorite was "Cream-Filled Pumpkin Cupcakes" from the new Taste of Home Fall Baking magazine. Delicious! And now for the fun...I made tiny pumpkin pie slices out of fondant to top each one. They turned out so cute!!! I'm taking these cupcakes to Birmingham tomorrow when I go visit my sister and niece.

Procrastination is over....I'm finally on!
I have some projects going on this week, so now that I have my blogspot set up I will be able to share them. It seems every baking project I do is unique -- simply because I always want to connect with the person I am baking for. This one should be fun as I attempt to create a photo album for a 70th surprise birthday party. More to come, I promise...
